Gender representations in associative meaning: The image of woman in Russian and Yakut language consciousnesses

The study is focused on representations of the concept ‘woman’ existing in language consciousnesses representatives Russian and Yakut ethnic groups. image was investigated by means a free-associative experiment. associative field, collected course experiment, considered as verbalization consciousness that reflects world, mediated language. To identify effect social environment well role native preservation traditional worldview elements, experiment conducted among Russians, Urban Yakuts (for whom main or only language), Rural (who speak Yakut). conclusions our research are following: components meanings three experimental groups overlap due to commonalities traditions gender stereotypes cultures. However, some responses were specific for group, showing they preserved elements perceptions comparison with Yakuts. Thus, we think usage ancestral rural way life contribute retention elements.
